NEWARK, NJ—After an eight-day layoff, the Highlanders (2-10) will return to action to host Fairleigh Dickinson (1-7) on Thursday, December 19 with tipoff slated for 7pm at the Fleisher Athletic Center.
The Highlanders on a four-game skid look to get back into the win column. NJIT is coming off a 75-64 home loss on December 10 to University at Albany, who were a double-champion in the America East in 2012-13, winning all 16 conference regular season games and then rolling through the AE Tournament and finishing 27-4.

Denisa Domiterova came off the bench to score a team and season-high 14 points for NJIT.
NJIT is led by graduate student
Shakia Robinson, who is the only double-figure scorer on the team, averaging 10 ppg, while ranking second on the team with 4.8 rebounds per game. Robinson is shooting 63 percent from the field (50-79) for the Highlanders.
Uju Nwankwo, the Highlanders 6-foot-1 forward is NJIT's second leading scorer with 8.6 ppg and tops the team with 9.0 rpg (ranked 87th in the nation) and 18 blocks.
Fairleigh Dickinson, which finished with a 12-17 overall record, 7-11 in the NEC in 2012-13, has added five newcomers to the 2013-14 roster while featuring nine returning letter winners.
The Knights were selected to finish ninth out of 10 teams in the 2013-14 NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll. Erika Livermore, who was a first team all-NEC selection a year ago as a sophomore, injured her right knee in preseason workouts and will sit out the 2013-14 season. She led the Knights last season in points (15.8), rebounds (11.9) and blocks (1.3) per game.
Sophomore forward Brianna Thomas is leading the Knights, averaging 16.4 ppg, while shooting 60% from beyond the arc and 77% from the free throw line. The Knights' other double-digit scorer is sophomore guard Kelsey Cruz with 13.1ppg. Point guard Amanda Andrades, a junior guard, leads the team with 32 assists and is averaging 8.1ppg.
The top rebounder and shot blocker on the team is senior 5-foot-11 Desiree Crawford, averaging 7.3 rpg and 18 blocks.
The Knights' lone victory of the season came against Columbia on November 24 at home in a 69-59 victory.
The Knights, who lost their previous three contests, most recently fell at home to Saint Peter's on December 11, 62-56. Kelsey Cruz came off the bench to lead FDU with 18 points, while grabbing a career-high 7 rebounds.
