PHILADELPHIA—The NJIT women's fencing team competed at the Philadelphia Invitational Saturday hosted by Temple University.
The Philadelphia Invitational featured the following teams: Haverford, Johns Hopkins, Fairleigh Dickinson, North Carolina and Duke.
The NJIT women dropped five decisions Saturday with its closest match coming against Fairleigh Dickinson, with the Knights taking a 16-11 victory.
Senior
Jaila Graham led the epee squad combining for a 9-6 overall record. Graham picked up two victories against Haverford, Johns Hopkins, FDU and Duke.
Sophomore
Julia Aronov finished with a 5-10 record on the epee strip picking up two wins apiece against Johns Hopkins and FDU.
Hannah Huan recorded a 7-8 record on the foil strip as the sophomore blanked North Carolina (3-0) and picked up two wins against Haverford and FDU.
Senior
Andrea Camargo went 6-9 on the foil strip with two victories apiece over Haverford and FDU.
The NJIT women's fencing team will return to action on February 9 at 10am when the Highlanders host the NJIT Invitational at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.
