MONTCLAIR, NJ—The NJIT men's swimming  team swam past Montclair in a decisive 107 to 96 victory, improving their season record to 5-4.
Continuing the team's record setting season, freshmen 
Jonathan Drori and 
Brian Capozzola broke two individual team records in the 200 backstroke and 200 freestyle, respectively.
Leading off the meet, the 400 medley relay made up of Drori, freshman 
Richard Seffrin, freshman 
Dennis Popov, and Capozzola placed first with a time of 3:47.33.
Seffrin continued his winning streak with two additional first place finishes in the 1650 freestyle (17:08.43) and the 500 freestyle (4:53.73).
Capozzola finished first place in both his record setting 200 freestyle (1:45.59) and the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.93. Teammate Senior 
Shawn Bryan placed second to Capozzola in the 100 freestyle (49.89) and second in the 50 freestyle with a 22.65.
Drori set the school record in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:07.93, placing second. He also placed first in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:20.98.
Freshman 
Hanson Tran placed second behind Drori in an exciting finish in the 200 breaststroke touching out Montclair with a time of 2:26.86.
Sophomore 
JT Stefan swam a 2:16.55 in the 200 Backstroke, placing fourth.
Popov was touched out twice in the 200 IM (2:05.93, personal best) and 200 butterfly (2:05.84) by less than .5 of a second placing second in both. Tran placed third in the 200 IM behind Popov with a personal best time of 2:16.53. Junior 
Victor Razuk placed third in the 200 butterfly behind Popov with a time of 2:12.65.
The NJIT men's swimming will be back in action on Sunday, January 27 at Manhattan College (Riverdale Country School) at 2pm.
