Swimming and Diving Competes in Dual Meet Against Bryant

NEWARK, N.J - The NJIT swimming and diving team will compete in a dual meet against Bryant on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center (BWEC).
 
The meet will be streamed live on America East TV with Ira Thor on the call.
 
NJIT News & Notes
The Highlanders won the NJIT Invite for the third straight season with 1,121 points on Oct. 10-11, beating Villanova, Howard, and Saint Peter's.
 
Mohamed Walid earned the America East Swimmer and Rookie of the Week on Oct. 14. He leads the America East in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:50.32 - a CSCAA B-cut time. The freshman also ranks third in the conference in the 100 fly (49.36) and fourth in the 200 free (1:41.95).
 
Zachary Goad ranks third in the America East in the 200 fly (1:53.49) and fifth in the 200 free (1:42.11).
 
Keegan Wooding leads the conference in the 1,650 free (16:19.82) and ranks fifth in the 500 free (4:41.85). Pawel Drzymala is fifth in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:46.67.
 
Andrew Cellar has dominated the backstroke this season, leading the America East with a 200 back time of 1:50.27. He also ranks second in the conference in the 50 back (23.06) and fourth in the 100 back (50.24). All of his backstroke times are CSCAA B-cut marks.
 
Borys Endle leads the America East in the 200 breast with a time of 2:01.86 - another CSCAA B-cut time.
 
Drzymala (1:53.84) and Goad (1:53.93) rank second and third in the conference in the 200 IM.
 
Scouting Bryant
Bryant enters the contest with an 0-2 record, most recently falling to America East foe Binghamton, 184-169, on Oct. 18.
 
Aidan Trenery leads the America East in the 100 breast (57.01) and ranks third in the 200 breast (2:06.81). James Misto ranks second in the conference in the 50 free (20.89), while teammate Arthur Newton sits second in the 100 free (46.16).
 
Raymond Stelmark (4:39.77) and Patrick Maldonado (4:39.88) rank second and third in the America East for the 500 free. Maldonado also ranks third in the 1,000 free (9:38.15).
 
Tim Andrews leads the Bulldogs in the butterfly events, ranking second in the conference in the 50 fly (22.69) and 200 fly (1:51.69).
 
Zach Proulx ranks second in the America East in the 200 back (1:50.62), while teammate Calix Hammett ranks third in the 100 back (50.15).
 
Bryant leads the all-time dual meet series, 8-1, including a 222-125 win over NJIT on Nov. 3, 2017.
 
Next Up
After a week off, NJIT will host defending America East champion, Binghamton, on Saturday, Nov. 8 at noon at the BWEC.
