Track & Field Competes at NYRR

NEW YORK, NY – The NJIT men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the NYRR Saturday evening at the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center.

 

The NJIT women picked up where they left off last weekend with another strong performance with six more school-records broken. 

 

Freshman Kelsey Jackson broke both the 200 and the 400 meter run becoming NJIT's first runner under 60 for the 400.  Jackson placed 28th with a time of 26.66 and placed in the top 20 in the 400 at 59.87.

 

Vincia Jackson broke the 500 meter school-record taking 21st with a time of 1:19.18 while Catherine Cohen broke the mile record.  Cohen finished at 5:23.55.

 

Victoria Creque-Steele broke the triple jump school-record with a distance of 10.42m and Nicole Vazquez broke the 60 meter dash at 8.35.

 

On the men's side, Pierre Damis broke the 60 meter hurdles school-record with a time of 8.84 while Josh Dolisca was the top finisher in the men's weight throw, placing third with a distance of 15.81m.
