MONTCLAIR, NJ – The NJIT women's tennis team won four singles matches and two of three doubles matches, raising its season match record to 9-8 with a 5-2 women's tennis win over visiting Manhattan Monday afternoon at Brookdale Park.

The Highlanders started off the match taking first and second doubles 8-5 and 8-0.  Highlanders pair Ana Lidon and Anine Lovdal defeated Manhattan's Lilli Johnson and Stephanie Tsao, 8-5, at first doubles while Nina Mayevska and Isha Toor blanked Hilary Valenzuela and Christina Puelo, 8-0, at the second spot.

Lidon was a 6-1, 6-0 winner for the Highlanders at second singles, while Toor won at the third spot in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.  Lovdal took fourth singles 6-2, 6-1 and senior Fanny Aizier won by identical scores, 6-2, 6-2, at fifth singles.

The Highlanders will return to action this weekend against Hartford at 10:00am in Loudonville, NY.  Siena and NJIT will face at 3pm.
