STONY BROOK, NY – Stony Brook's women's tennis team recorded its fifth straight victory topping visiting NJIT, 7-0, Sunday afternoon.
NJIT (11-9) started off the match taking first doubles as Nina Mayevska and Isha Toor defeated Stony Brook's Paola Rodolfi and Prerana Appineni, 8-7 (7-5).
Stony Brook (14-3) bounced back at second and third doubles earning the doubles points.
The two closest matches for NJIT were at first and second singles. Mayevska was downed 6-2, 6-4 at first singles while Ana Lidon was defeated 6-3, 6-2 at the second spot.
The Highlanders will visit Rider on Saturday at 12pm and wrap up the regular season at home on April 18 hosting Albany at Noon in Montclair, NJ at Brookdale Park.
NJIT will break until May 1-2 when they travel to Grand Forks, North Dakota for the Great West Conference Women's Tennis Championships at University of North Dakota.
