STONY BROOK, NY – The NJIT men's tennis team win streak came to an end Sunday afternoon as Stony Brook took a 5-2 decision from the visiting Highlanders.

Stony Brook improves to 13-4 extending the Seawolves win streak to six matches while the Highlanders fall to 15-6 on the season.

Stony Brook took four of the six singles matches and two out of three doubles contests from NJIT.

Sophomore Diego Abreu was the only double-winner for the Highlanders on the day as he teamed with Carl Lunquist at first doubles for an 8-5 victory.  Abreu also defeated Stony Brook's Mitch Wong in straight sets at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-4. The other point for NJIT came from senior Stephen Erickson at first singles topping Ivan Rummel, 6-3, 6-4.

The Highlanders will return to action this weekend at the Men's Tennis Independent Tournament hosted by Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia.
