JERSEY CITY – The NJIT women's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 win over Saint Peter's Sunday afternoon at the Yanitelli Center.

The Highlanders (1-1) recorded their first victory of 2010, winning five out of six singles matches and sweeping the doubles contests.

Nina Mayevska had a victorious afternoon, combining with Isha Toor for an 8-0 win in first doubles and then scoring a 6-4, 6-1 win in first singles.  Toor was a 6-0, 6-1 winner in fourth singles.

Ana Lidon added a 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. Fanny Aizier and Dasa Stanimirovic each picked up a pair of wins for the Highlanders, as well.  Aizier and Stanimirovic teamed for a 8-0 win at third doubles.  Lidon won at second doubles with teammate Anine Lovdal, 8-2.

Saint Peter's only point of the match came at second singles.

The Highlanders return to action on Saturday at  8pm when they host Bryant at the Bogota Racquet Club.
