WEST HARTFORD, CT -- New Jersey Institute of Technology men's tennis team was dominant in its 7-0 victory over Hartford Saturday afternoon.
The Highlanders won all six singles matches in straight sets and also swept the three doubles matches, including first doubles at 8-5and second and third doubles at 8-3.
NJIT freshman Carl Lundquist teamed up with Cosmin Chiujdea to win 8-5 at first doubles and notching a 6-3, 6-2 win a first singles.
Junior Steve Erickson, won at first singles, defeating the home team's Ricky Dove, 6-3 and 6-4. Dan Salomon and Anthony Tunnero won at third and fifth singles by identical scores, 6-1, 6-1. Salomon paired up with Bryan Keelan at second doubles coming out on top 8-3.
Senior Jonathan Lang was victorious at fourth singles topping Matt Seltzer 6-2, 6-1 while teammate Mike Sullivan recorded the final point in the singles competition defeating Hartford's Filip Miletic 6-2, 6-3.
Sullivan and Dimitri Athans posted an 8-3 victory at third doubles over Hartford's Aaron Kooden and Miletic.
The Highlanders will return to action on Saturday when they host Morgan State the Tenafly Racquet Club. The match is scheduled for 8pm.
