HOUSTON – Joelle Daniel's goal in the 88th minute was the difference for Houston Baptist, which nipped New Jersey Institute of Technology, 2-1, in men's soccer Atlantic Soccer Conference action Saturday night at Sorrels Field.

Houston Baptist (6-8-0, 2-0-0 ASC) got the game-winner on the last shot of the contest breaking a 1-1 tie that had stood since early in the first half.

Huskies junior Andrew Collins began the play with a corner kick that was served into the box.  Freshman Dan Dwyer collected the ball and found Daniel open deep in the box for the score.  Daniel's goal at 88:48 was the first of the season.

The Huskies struck first, when Duke Ogega and Adi Mesic assisted on a goal by Francisco Diaz. Diaz now has two goals on the season.

NJIT (4-11-0, 1-1-0 ASC), which sustained its hard-luck eighth one-goal loss of the season, evened the score on a free kick.  Senior Osvaldo Perez found Rahim Stennett on a header that slipped past the goalkeeper, for his team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Stennett, the 6-foot-2 sophomore forward, shares NJIT's Division I school-record for most goals in a season with teammate Erik Magnusson and ranks third all-time in most career goals, in his first season at NJIT.  Magnusson recorded six goals in 2007.

Ryan Sutherland, the fifth-year senior for the Highlanders, stopped two shots in 90 minutes, while starter Michael Bouchahine made five saves in the victory.

The Highlanders, who have three regular season contests left, will return to action on Tuesday, October 27 when they host Bucknell at J. Malcolm Simon Stadium at 7:00pm.
