NAPERVILLE, IL: NJIT freshman Christian Baumbach was recognized as Great West Male Co-Runner of the Week with South Dakota's Rob Gregoire the league office announced.

Baumbach, from Hopewell, NJ, made his Highlander debut at the Hofstra Invitational on September 10, leading the men's side with a first-place finish.

He recorded a freshman record in the 5,000 meter race with a time of (16:04).

Baumbach and the Highlanders return to action on Sunday, October 21 when they host the NJIT Classic at Van Cordtlandt Park in the Bronx, NY.
