NEWARK, NJ -- Freshman
Paige Eckert earned her first career America East Rookie of the Week honor, as announced by the league office Monday morning.
A native of Warrington, Pennsylvania, and graduate of Archbishop Wood High School, Eckert helped lead the charge in NJIT's dominant win, 3-0, over LIU on Thursday. The forward scored a goal and contributed an assist, firing off five of NJIT's 27 shots in the contest. Eckert netted her second goal of the season in the 80th minute, and assisted on the first career goal for fellow freshman and Bucks County, Pa., native
Brianna Garyah.
Eckert has made an instant impact on the program since arriving on campus this summer. Starting all eight games that NJIT has played in 2026, Eckert is the team leader in points (6) with two goals and two assists.
