247 Highlander Student-Athletes Named to America East Academic Honor Roll

​NEWARK, NJ—A total of 247 NJIT student-athletes who competed during the 2025-26 academic year earned America East Academic Honor Roll recognition, the conference announced Wednesday.

The honorees represented 12 Highlander programs, including men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, baseball, men's lacrosse, men's and women's track and field/cross country, and men's swimming and diving. To earn America East Academic Honor Roll recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Among NJIT's 247 Academic Honor Roll selections, 165 Highlanders also earned America East Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction by posting a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. 

Additionally, 49 NJIT student-athletes achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA during either the fall or spring semester.

Need to Know

  • This year 84 percent of student-athletes who competed in America East sponsored sports earned Honor Roll recognition for achieving at least a 3.0 GPA during the 2025 fall semester or 2026 spring semesters.

  • In total, 60 percent of student-athletes and 2,052 in total earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status for registering a GPA of 3.5 or better.

  • Overall 2,887 America East student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll in 2025-26.

  • New Hampshire led the league as 88.3% of its student-athletes earned at least a 3.0 this year, followed by NJIT at 87% and Vermont at 86.9%. Binghamton was fourth at 85.3%.

  • Bryant had the highest total number of student-athletes earn at least a 3.0 this year with 421, followed by UMass Lowell (367), Binghamton (360) and Vermont (359).

  • New Hampshire had the highest percentage of student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll at 73.2 percent. Maine was second at 63.9 percent, followed by Vermont (63.2) and UAlbany (61.0)

  • Four programs had 100% of their student-athletes earn honor roll status during the spring semester:

    • Maine women's basketball

    • UMBC women's lacrosse

    • NJIT women's basketball

    • NJIT baseball

  • Women's swimming & diving had 95% of its student-athletes achieve at least a 3.0 to lead all programs this spring, followed by women's basketball (88%), women's lacrosse (87%) and women's track & field (87%).

  • America East student-athletes have averaged at least a 3.0 GPA in each of the last 21 years.
