Official NCAA Release
NEWARK, NJ – Eleven Highlander athletic programs earned a perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) score as the NCAA released its academic success data for the 2024-25 academic year on Tuesday.
The APR measures the academic performance of student-athletes by tracking eligibility, retention and graduation rates among scholarship student-athletes. The Highlanders posted an institutional APR average of 992.
The following programs recorded a perfect 1000 single-year APR score for 2024-25:
In addition, nine Highlander programs earned NCAA Public Recognition Awards for ranking among the top 10 percent nationally in their sport based on multi-year APR scores:

Each academic year, the NCAA calculates APR scores for every Division I team using a standardized formula that measures academic eligibility and student-athlete retention. Scholarship student-athletes can earn one point for remaining academically eligible and one point for staying enrolled or graduating at the end of each academic term. A team's points are then divided by the total possible points and multiplied by 1,000. Institutions that do not offer athletic scholarships track recruited student-athletes instead.
The 2024-25 release marks the fifth consecutive year that APR data has been publicly reported following the COVID-19 pandemic hiatus. In 2022, the NCAA Division I Board of Directors approved the continued release of APR scores while temporarily suspending program penalties. Standard Academic Performance Program penalties, including postseason restrictions for teams scoring below the 930 benchmark, resumed last year and remain in effect.
