NEWARK, NJ–Freshman Blake Piscitiello has been named America East Conference Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season the conference office announced on Monday.
Piscitiello paced the offense with a standout performance, recording three goals and four assists to highlight his all-around impact. Despite his efforts, the Highlanders fell in a tightly contested decision at UMBC on Saturday.
He leads the conference in both assists per game (2.23) and points per game (4.77), while his 33 goals put him just three shy of NJIT's single-season record of 36, set by Aaron Forester in 2019. He has already established new program single-season marks in both points (62) and assists (29).
On the national level, Piscitiello is tied for eighth in points per game and ranks 14th in assists per game. In both categories, he leads all Division I freshmen.

NJIT will host UAlbany in the final regular season game of the season at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium. The matchup is set for Saturday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m on ESPN+.
