ECAC Official Release
NEWARK, NJ — Freshman attackman Blake Piscitiello added another major accolade to his historic debut season, earning 2026 ECAC Rookie of the Year honors, the organization announced Wednesday.
Piscitiello previously collected America East Rookie of the Year recognition while also earning First Team All-Conference and All-Rookie Team honors.
A five-time America East Rookie of the Week selection and one-time Offensive Player of the Week, Piscitiello delivered one of the most impressive freshman campaigns in program history. He set NJIT single-season records for points (65) and assists (30), while finishing just one goal shy of the program's single-season goals record with 35.
The 5-foot-10 attackman ranked led the America East in goals per game (2.50), assists per game (2.14) and points per game (4.64).
Piscitiello recorded a season-high nine points (six goals, three assists) against St. John's on Feb. 8, tying for the second-highest single-game point total in NJIT history. He also matched the program's single-game assists record with five helpers versus Hampton on Feb. 3.
The Lakeville, Minnesota native scored at least one goal in 13 of 14 games and recorded an assist in 12 contests. He posted multiple points in every game during the season, highlighted by a stretch of four consecutive hat tricks.
On the national stage, Piscitiello finished tied for 10th in Division I in points per game and tied for 15th in assists per game, while leading all Division I freshmen in points per game.
