4/13/2026 11:00:00 AM

NEWARK, NJ – NJIT's Cameron Kurdyla has been named America East Goalkeeper of the Week, while Blake Piscitiello earned America East Rookie of the Week honors, the conference office announced Monday.

The honors follow NJIT's 10–8 home victory over UMass Lowell.

The Highlanders (5-7, 2-2 America East) seized control in the second quarter, scoring five goals to build a lead they maintained for the remainder of the contest. Defensively, NJIT stood firm with 21 saves, holding off a late push from the River Hawks, who netted four goals in the final quarter.

Kurdyla anchored the defensive effort with a standout performance in goal, recording a career-high 21 saves while allowing just eight goals. He posted a .724 save percentage, and his 21 saves are tied for the sixth-most in a single game in the NCAA this season. The recognition is Kurdyla's third America East Goalkeeper of the Week honor this year.

Piscitiello paced the Highlanders offensively with three goals and three assists, placing nine shots on goal for a total of six points. Through 12 games, he has totaled 55 points (30 goals, 25 assists), setting a new NJIT single-season program record and surpassing Aaron Forster's previous mark of 53 points set in 2019. Piscitiello currently ranks second nationally among freshmen in points (55), goals (30), and assists (25). This marks his fourth America East Rookie of the Week honor this season.
