NEWARK, NJ – The NJIT men's basketball drop regular season finale to UMBC on Tuesday Night.
The game opened with a three from freshman
David Bolden, but the first-place Retrievers had an answer going on a 12-2 run across six minutes of game time to take the lead.
The Highlanders were able to exchange some baskets, but the Retrievers used another big run of 11-2 to take a 25-12 lead with just under eight minutes to go in the first half.
Going into the half, the Highlanders trailed 46-24 and shot 10-31 from the field.
From the first media timeout of the second half, the Retrievers used a 21-4 run that spanned over ten minutes to take their biggest lead of the game.
It was all Retrievers for the remainder of the game as they controlled both ends of the floor.
Leading the way for the Highlanders was junior Sebastian Roninson who finished the game with ten points.
