Men’s Lacrosse Makes First America East Conference Road Trip to Vermont

NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's lacrosse team will make its first America East Conference road trip of the season when the Highlanders visit Vermont on Saturday.

Series History
Vermont leads the all-time series, 7-0.  The two teams first met in 2015 in Newark, NJ.

Last Time Out
The NJIT men's lacrosse team recorded its first America East Conference victory of the season with a 13-7 win over visiting Binghamton Saturday afternoon at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.

NJIT (4-5, 1-0 America East) capitalized on extra-man opportunities, scoring three goals with the advantage, and held Binghamton (2-6, 1-1 America East) scoreless in the third quarter. NJIT's defense was crucial in maintaining the lead, with its goalie Cameron Kurdyla recording 14 saves, while Binghamton struggled to convert its 36 shots into goals.

America East Weekly Award Winners
NJIT's Cameron Kurdyla has been named America East Goalkeeper of the Week, while Carson Piscitiello earned America East Rookie of the Week honors, the America East Conference office announced Monday.

The Highlanders' defense proved pivotal in maintaining the lead, highlighted by Kurdyla's standout performance in goal. He recorded 14 saves and posted a .667 save percentage, helping limit the Bearcats despite their 36 shots.

Piscitiello contributed offensively with two goals and one assist in the victory.

Scouting the Catamounts
Vermont enters Saturday's contest with a 3-4 overall mark, 1-1 in the America East with wins over UMBC (W, 10-5) and a narrowly edged contest at Bryant (L, 8-11).

Max Frattaroli led the Catamounts against Bryant, tallying three goals, one assist for four points followed by Harrison Josloff with three goals.

For the season, Frattaroli paces the team with 14 goals while Zack Toll has combined for 12 assists.
