Baseball Falls to UAlbany, 10-3, on Sunday Afternoon

LITTLE FALLS, N.J. — The NJIT baseball team dropped the series finale to UAlbany, 10–3, on Sunday morning at Yogi Berra Stadium.

The Great Danes added single runs in the first and second before breaking the game open in the third inning with four runs in the frame and extending the lead to 6–0.

The Highlanders responded in the bottom half of the third inning. Jack Stead drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home Sheehan O'Connor, putting the Highlanders on the board and trimming the deficit to five.

The Great Danes continued to add insurance runs in the sixth and seventh innings that pushed the lead to 8–1.

The Highlanders mounted a brief rally in the bottom of the seventh inning after loading the bases. Austin Francis lifted a sacrifice fly to right field to score Ben Robinson, and Stead followed with another sacrifice fly to bring home Brody Levin, cutting the deficit to 8–3.

The Great Danes answered with two runs in the ninth inning to account for the final margin.

At the plate, Ty Sallie and Lorenzo Camilleri each recorded hits, while Stead drove in two runs on a pair of sacrifice flies.

On the mound, Becker Sybirski provided steady relief for the Highlanders, tossing 2.1 innings and allowing one run while keeping the game within reach through the middle innings.
