Men’s Lacrosse Wraps Up Four Game Homestand on Tuesday

​NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's lacrosse team will wrap a four-game homestand on Tuesday night, welcoming Monmouth.

Game Information
Opening face-off is set for 6:30pm., with live coverage on AmericaEast.TV and live stats at NJITHighlanders.com.

Series History
Monmouth leads the all-time series, 8-2.  The Hawks have won the last four out of five contests.

Fast Start
NJIT opened the season 2-0 for the first time since 2024, defeating Hampton Pirates (22-8, Feb. 3) and St. John's Red Storm (17-10, Feb. 8).

Last Time Out
Visiting Sacred Heart edged NJIT, 14-12 in a closely contested match-up on Saturday morning in men's lacrosse non-conference action at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium. 

Freshman Blake Piscitiello led the offense with four goals on 11 shots, including eight on target. Carson Piscitiello contributed significantly with one goal and five assists, playing a pivotal role in the team's scoring efforts. Will Corry added three goals from nine shots, with five of those on target, complementing the attack. In goal, Cameron Kurdyla made 19 saves on 53 shots faced, anchoring the defense despite allowing 14 goals.

America East Weekly Honors (Feb. 9)
NJIT swept the conference's weekly awards:

All four earned their first career honors from the America East Conference.

Highlander Leaders

2025 Rewind
JC Echezuria earned America East All-Rookie honors after leading NJIT with 29 points. Emmerick Dopona posted a team-best 15 caused turnovers, O'Brien recorded 28 ground balls (most among non-faceoff players), and Joey Schwarz ranked second in the conference in league play with 11.83 saves per game.

Scouting Monmouth
Monmouth enters Tuesday's midweek contest with a 3-1 record and winners of their last two games.

The Hawks are coming off a 14-5 victory over Mount St. Mary's on February 28.

Ty Caffarelli paces the Hawks with 16 goals, two assists for 18 points while Brendan Dundas and Connor Gorman each have combined for nine goals.

Next Up
NJIT will hit the road and visit Wagner on March 7 at 1pm.
