NJIT will kick off its annual Giving Day on March 4–5 with 24 hours of campus energy, donor-driven challenges and student engagement aimed at rallying the university community around programs, organizations and initiatives that make an immediate impact on students.
This year's event features student organizations, departments and athletics teams — the largest group yet — along with a full lineup of contests, activities and matching opportunities designed to inspire participation across campus and among alumni, parents, faculty and staff.
Expanded On-Campus Activation
Students can join the on-campus celebration at the Campus Center to meet student organizations, learn about their missions and help them reach their Giving Day goals:
-
Tuesday, March 4: Noon–4 p.m.
-
Wednesday, March 5: 10 a.m.–Noon
The activation will include games, giveaways and chances to win prizes such as an exclusive lunch with President Teik C. Lim and First Lady Gina Lim, an NJIT Bookstore gift card and a Lyft gift card. To encourage student participation, President Lim is matching student gifts, increasing the impact of every contribution made during the event.
Social Media Contests and Day-Long Challenges
Community members can also participate online through all-day social media contests on both days, including "My Campus Home," "Wear It Wednesday," "NJIT Besties" and "Throwback Thursday." Each contest offers opportunities to unlock bonus funds for selected areas of support when participants post using #NJITGivingDay.
Additional Giving Day challenges — including class competitions, first-time donor bonuses and recognition for the donor who gives from the farthest location — will run throughout the event. A full schedule of power hours and challenge details is available at givingday.njit.edu.
And to make contributions go further, NJIT has secured several matching gifts and donor-driven incentives that will support student organizations, academic departments and athletics teams.
You+2: Incentives for Advocates
This year's Giving Day also includes You+2, a participation-driven advocate program that rewards community members for recruiting new donors.

Largest Participation to Date
With more than 30 student organizations, departments and athletic teams already registered — and more expected — NJIT has exceeded last year's participation before Giving Day has even begun.
Community members can explore participating groups, challenges and giving opportunities on the
Giving Day website, which also includes the full outreach toolkit for sharing messages and encouraging support.
