MADISON, NJ — The NJIT men's epee squad captured the team title Sunday at the 2026 MACFA Championships, hosted by Drew University, powering the Highlanders to a second-place overall finish.

NJIT totaled 89 points, finishing behind MACFA champion Johns Hopkins University (106 points).

The championship epee squad featured Daniel Jeun, Fabio Mastromarino, Paul Veltrup and Ryan Scharf.

NJIT's foil squad placed third, led by Julian Detering, Aidan Doctor, Carlos Grodman, Sabit Kilinc and Robert Rountree.

Individually, Veltrup earned bronze in men's epee, while Gonzalo Fernandez added a seventh-place finish in men's saber.

The Highlanders return to action Saturday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Region Championship hosted by Haverford College.
