About the NCAA Fencing Championships
A total of 26 institutions will be represented at the 2026 NCAA Fencing Championships.

The National Collegiate Men's and Women's Fencing Championships feature individual competition in six weapons: men's épée, foil, and sabre, and women's épée, foil, and sabre.

Fencers first compete in a round-robin format consisting of five-touch bouts. The top four finishers in each weapon advance to the semifinals, where they fence 15-touch bouts. Semifinal winners compete for the national championship, while the remaining semifinalists share third place.

Team standings are determined by the combined performance of each institution's fencers. Schools earn one point for every bout victory during round-robin competition.
