NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT women's tennis team moved back into the win column with a 6-1 victory over visiting Hofstra Saturday morning inside The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility
The Highlanders (6-2) delivered an impressive performance, sweeping doubles play and capturing five of six singles matches in a commanding overall victory.
The team wasted no time establishing control, winning all three doubles matches in decisive fashion.
At No. 1 doubles, Irene Cocero and Laura Wipfli opened the day with a dominant 6–1 win over Aida Oviedo and Aryanah Kahnamoui, finishing first and setting the early momentum.
The No. 3 duo of Petra Koszo and Diana Fernandes followed with a 6–2 victory against Katarina Drinchich and Ava Veneziano.
Closing out doubles play, Paula Menendez Alvarez and Feyza Aydin secured the sweep with a 6–3 win over Isabella Cardinal and Sabira Mohamed.
With a 1–0 advantage after doubles, the team carried confidence into singles competition. Singles play continued the dominant theme, with five straight-set victories highlighting the afternoon.

NJIT will return to action on Saturday, February 28 at 11am when the Highlanders host LIU.
