SPARTANBURG, SC – Wofford pushed across the game's only run in the bottom of the ninth to edge NJIT, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Russell C. King Stadium.
After eight scoreless innings, Lucas Manning led off the ninth with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Alex Myers. Cade Collins was then hit by a pitch before Harrison Campi delivered a walk-off single to plate Manning.
Nick Vega reached base twice for the Highlanders with a hit and a walk. Ty Sallie, Jack Stead, Sheehan O'Connor and Lorenzo Camilleri each added a hit.
Brandon Peterson started and tossed four scoreless innings, allowing three hits with one strikeout and five walks. Tate Jones followed with 2.2 shutout innings, striking out three. Tade Riordan (2.0 IP) allowed one run on two hits in the ninth.
