No. 20 NJIT Wins Seventh Straight; Picks Up First Road Win of the Season at Harvard


CAMBRIDGE, MA – The NJIT men's volleyball team improved to 2-0 in the EIVA Conference on Friday night, defeating Harvard in four sets (25-12, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20) at the Malkin Athletic Center.

The Highlanders (7-5, 2-0 EIVA) won its seventh straight match of the season and utilized a balanced offensive attack and a dominant opening set to set the tone against the Crimson (2-7, 0-1 EIVA). NJIT hit a blistering .476 in the first frame, holding Harvard to a negative hitting percentage to coast to a 25-12 win.

NJIT went ahead 2-0 after edging the Crimson in the second set 25-23.  

In the third frame, Harvard fought back to extend the match with a 25-23 victory of their own.  

The Highlanders regained their composure in the fourth, hitting .417 as a team to clinch the 3-1 road victory.

Leading the Highlander attack was sophomore Wiktor Nowak who led all players with 16 kills while adding four digs and two blocks.  

Freshman Andre Aleixo recorded 11 kills and five digs while classmate Alex Heins contributed nine kills on an efficient night, finishing with a .500 hitting percentage on 12 swings.

The Highlander offense was paced by Bruno Figueiredo's 42 assists and seven digs and freshman middle Daniel Latkowski provided a team-best five blocks in addition to six kills on 12 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage.

NJIT libero Diego Lopez shared match-high honors with nine digs.

The seven straight wins for the Highlanders are the most since last season when NJIT won seven in a row ahead of the 2025 EIVA Conference Tournament.

The Highlanders will look to carry their momentum into Saturday's EIVA Conference match against the Crimson.  First spike is set for 5pm on ESPN+.
