Highlanders Win Fifth Straight with 76-70 Win at New Hampshire

DURHAM, NH – The NJIT men's basketball team takes down New Hampshire, 76-70, on the road and improve to 9-2 in America East play.  

The game started with both teams exchanging runs as streaky offense highlighted the first ten minutes of play.

The Highlanders, led by sophomore Jordan Rogers and junior Sebastian Robinson, went on a 12-2 run over the next five minutes of play forcing a Wildcats' timeout.

Out of the timeout, the Wildcats went on a 5-0 run to tie the game at 29 apiece however, the Highlanders were able to storm back with a 7-0 run after the final media timeout.

Heading into halftime, the Highlanders held a 39-32 lead with Rogers and Robinson leading the way with eight points each.

Coming out of the break, Robinson scored a tough layup through contact and completed the three-point play for the first double-digit Highlander lead.

The Highlanders held a double-figure lead from the opening minute of the second half until the 13-minute mark before the Wildcats capitalized on a two-minute scoring drought from the Highlanders with a 7-0 run.

The rest of the final half was a back and forth of runs with both teams' physicality increasing as the clock went down.

Ultimately, the Highlanders were able to walk away with their fifth straight win, which ties their longest winning streak since 2019.

Leading the way for the Highlanders was Robinson who led all scorers with 23 points on 10-18 shooting from the field. This is Robinson's 9th straight game in double-figures, his 13th in his last 14 games and his sixth game in conference play with 20+ points.

Sophomore Ari Fulton followed with 18 points, his fifth straight game in double-digits and his seventh game in conference play with 11+ points.

Rogers was the third and final Highlanders in double-figures with 10 points, his fourth straight game in double-figures.

With the win, the Highlanders improve to 9-2 in conference play. Nine conference wins ties the most conference wins in program history since the Highlanders won nine games in the Great West Conference.
