NEWARK, NJ — Senior Laura Wipfli has been named the Big South Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Wipfli powered the Highlanders to a 5–2 home victory over Seton Hall in the 2026 home opener on Saturday, earning wins at both No. 1 doubles and No. 1 singles.

At first doubles, Wipfli teamed with Irene Cocero for a hard-fought 6–4 victory. She followed with a dominant showing in singles play, rolling to a 6–0, 6–3 straight-set win over Kira Farrakhova at the top spot.
