NEWARK, NJ– Freshman Andre Aleixo has been named the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Aleixo earns his second consecutive weekly honor and his first Offensive Player of the Week award. Last week, he was selected as the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week.

The 6-foot-4 outside hitter delivered an impressive performance in the Highlanders' 3-0 victory over Daemen on Saturday afternoon, recording 11 kills with just one error on 14 attempts for a .714 hitting percentage.

The Highlanders return home this weekend for a pair of matches at the Joel and Diane Wellness and Events Center, hosting LIU on January 30 at 5 p.m., followed by FDU on January 31 at 6 p.m.
