​NEWARK, NJ–NJIT swept visiting Jessup, 3-0, Saturday evening led by freshman Andre Aleixo's match-best 16 kills in men's volleyball non-conference action inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.

NJIT, which started off with a challenging 2026 schedule, visiting No. 2 Hawaii, No. 14 Ohio State, No. 16 Ball State and IPFW, are now 2-0 at home inside the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center.

The Highlanders won in straight sets Saturday – 25-22, 25-16 and 25-22.

Aleixo finished the match with a .682 hitting percentage to go along with six digs followed by Wiktor Nowak with 11 kills.  Middle Daniel Latkowski combined for seven kills on 12 swings with just one error for a .500 hitting percentage.

Setter Bruno Figueiredo piled up 35 assists and registered four block assists.  NJIT had three players – Nowak, Gustavo Chrcanovic and Aleixo each posted six digs.  Libero Ron Tidhar added five digs.

Next Up
NJIT will return to action next weekend when the Highlanders travel to Loretto, PA, and take on Daemen on Saturday (4pm) and Saint Francis U (1pm).
