Postgame interview with head coach Ally Nick and senior goalkeeper Mojisola Ayodele
NEWARK, N.J. - Kelsey Ramos scored her second goal of the season in the sixth minute to lead NJIT (5-2-1) to its third straight win, a 1-0 victory over Lafayette (2-3-3) on Thursday night at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.
Ramos' goal came off a corner kick from 
Emily Jozak.
 
In the 29th minute, Lafayette's Ava Murphy fired a shot right outside the box, but 
Mojisola Ayodele made a diving save to preserve the lead.
 
  
The Highlanders took a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
 
In the 61st minute, Lafayette's Nadia Zaffanella had a close-range chance, but Ayodele came up big again with another diving stop.
  
Ayodele finished with a career-high seven saves, while NJIT also blocked four shots.

Caitlin Mahala, and Ayodele played the full 90 minutes.
 
Lafayette led in shots (16-12), shots on goal (7-4), and possession (54%-46%), while NJIT had the edge in corner kicks (7-3).

NJIT will host North Texas for Senior Day on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium. The Senior Day ceremony will begin at 12:40 p.m.
