LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The NJIT women's soccer team (2-2-1) played to a scoreless draw against Rider (0-2-2) on Sunday evening at Ben Cohen Field.
The Highlanders took 17 shots in the second half, but they were unable to find the back of the net.
In the 59th minute,
Maria Nogueira fired a shot that struck the crossbar. Shortly after,
Kennedy Westbrook had an opportunity off a corner kick, but her header missed wide left.
Riley Jones led the Highlanders with four shots, while Nogueira and
Kelsey Ramos took three shots each.
Enya Carthy,
Merle Hueser, Westbrook, Nogueira, and
Riley Jones played the full 90 minutes.
NJIT led in shots (21-3), shots on goal (6-2), and corner kicks (4-2), while Rider had a slight edge in possession (52%-48%).

NJIT will begin a four-game homestand against Wagner on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 5:00 p.m. at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.
