NEWARK, NJ--Assistant AD for Media Relations and Digital Strategy Stephanie Pillari has announced the hiring of Michael Federico as the next Media Relations and Digital Strategy Assistant.
Federico joins the NJIT Media Relations and Digital Strategy staff after serving as the Communications Assistant at Seton Hall University. He will serve as the primary contact for NJIT's men's basketball, baseball, men's tennis and women's volleyball programs.
While at Seton Hall, Federico assisted with multiple Seton Hall Athletics programs–men's and women's basketball, baseball, men's and women's soccer, softball and swimming and diving. He managed the Pirates social media accounts, providing graphics and video content on multiple platforms.
Federico was a key member of the prestigious student-run radio station, 89.5 FM WSOU, which was named 2023 Marconi Award for College Radio Station of the Year. Federico was the Sports Director, lead Web Designer and Technical Operations Director.
Additionally, Federico provided play-by-play for the Pirates Sports Network, directed the in-arena productions and live broadcasts on FloSports and assisted as a camera operator, replay operator and graphics coordinator for events broadcasted both of FloSports and BIG EAST Digital Network.
A 2025 graduate of Seton Hall University, Federico earned his bachelor's degree in Visual & Sound Media with Sports Media Concentration and a minor in Graphic Design and Advertising.
