America East Official Release
NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT men's soccer team was voted to finish fifth in the 2025 America East Preseason Coaches Poll, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Head Coach Fernando Barboto begins his 10th season at NJIT after guiding the 2024 Highlanders to its fifth straight America East Tournament appearance. Last season, NJIT went 6-8-4 overall, 2-3-2 in the conference, earning the No. 5 seed in the postseason tournament.
NJIT will kick off the 2025 season with a pair of matches on the road at Loyola (Aug. 21) and FDU (Aug. 24) in a Garden State match-up.
The America East Tournament begins with the quarterfinals on Nov. 8, followed by the semifinals (Nov. 12) and championship game (Nov. 16). The top six teams during the regular season advance to the conference tournament with the top two seeds earning first-round byes.
