LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Isaac Vanzomeren was selected as a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-American on Tuesday. In addition, the NJIT men's lacrosse team earned the USILA Team All-Academic Award.
The USILA Scholar All-America program recognizes student-athletes with at least a senior academic standing who achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher and has been honored as an All-American or with an All-Conference award.
Vanzomeren is the fifth Highlander in program history to be named a USILA Scholar All-American, a list that includes
Teddy Grimley,
Garrett Muscatella,
Owen Corry, and
Liam Brown. He is one of 120 Division I men's lacrosse players named to the USILA Scholar All-America list in 2025.
Vanzomeren graduated with his MBA and a 3.917 GPA. He was named to the America East All-Academic Team twice in his career, including 2025. He was also selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
On the field, the faceoff specialist was second in the America East and 13th in the nation with 6.44 ground balls per game. Vanzomeren also earned the America East Faceoff Specialist of the Week on March 3 after picking up nine ground balls and winning 15-of-25 (60%) faceoffs against Drexel on Feb. 26.
To qualify for the Team Academic Award, schools must have a team GPA of at least 3.0. NJIT was one of 44 Division I programs who achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher this season.
As a team, NJIT posted a 3.218 GPA with five players earning a perfect 4.0 GPA. 11 players hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
