NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT women's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 home victory over visiting Drexel on Saturday afternoon inside the The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
NJIT picked up its fourth straight win of the season, improving to 12-4 overall and concluded the home slate undefeated with a 9-0 mark.
The Highlanders took control of the match, sweeping the doubles contests to earn the point and won five out of six singles contests to secure the 6-1 home victory.

"Today was a great match for us, the girls came together and gave great energy from start to finish. The Drexel team is a very talented group of tennis players. As a team we have been working on staying focused and playing intentionally. We successfully did that today."
Highlanders tandem Laura Wipfli and Irene Cocero combined for a 6-4 victory at first doubles and Shalom Salvi and Arina Babkova teamed up for a 6-0 win at second doubles.
Paula Menendez Alvarez posted a 6-4, 4-6, 10-3 victory at second singles.
Salvi was a straight set winner 6-4, 6-0 at third singles, Cocero also won in straight sets 7-5, 6-2 and Babkova at fifth spot won by identical scores 6-1, 6-1.
In pregame ceremonies, the NJIT women's tennis team recognized three graduate students Riya Mathur, Arina Babkova and Shalom Salvi.
NJIT will conclude the regular season on April 12 at Stony Brook and is slated for a 4pm start.
