MADISON, NJ–The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams competed at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional hosted by Drew on Saturday afternoon.

The event took place in the Simon Forum and featured Drew, Duke, Fairleigh Dickinson, Haverford, Johns Hopkins, Lafayette, NJIT, North Carolina, Penn, Penn State, Princeton, Stevens, Temple, and Wagner. 

The top finisher for NJIT was senior Niels Roubailo who finished in ninth place out of 47 fencers in the men's epee competition.  In the men's foil, Aidan Doctor took 11th.

Two Highlanders – Christopher Cortez and Adrian Figueredo finished in the top 15 of the men's saber competition.  Cortez placed 12th followed by Figueredo in 15th.  

Sophomore Stella Frias was the top finisher for the NJIT women in the women's foil competition, placing 26th.

The regional championships serve as a qualifier for the NCAA Championships, which will take place March 20-23 at Penn State University.
