Our Mission
Intramurals and Recreation at the New Jersey Institute of Technology is committed to making student participation in recreational activities an essential component of the NJIT experience. By providing outstanding programming, leadership and facilities, we meet the recreational interests of the diverse student body. Our efforts are focused on activities that create positive social interaction, opportunities for education and development, and promotion of healthy lifestyles among students, faculty, and staff.
Our Core Values
COMMUNITY - Recreation at NJIT is an avenue for community between like minded individuals, whether through a shared interest in fitness or through participating on an Intramural team.
INCLUSIVITY - Recreation at NJIT is a mirror reflecting the diversity of the campus, providing offerings catering the variety of the different backgrounds represented at a world class university.
PLAY - At the heart of all Recreation is fun. Recreation is a release from the rigorous schedule of the NJIT academic life, and the overall objective of the Recreation staff is to provide an environment where the NJIT community can play, have fun, and create memories that enhance their experience at NJIT.
POSITIVE WELLBEING - Through Community, Inclusivity, and Positive Wellbeing, Campus Recreation aims to create an environment that promotes Positive Wellbeing. A Positive Wellbeing leads to success in the classroom and positive development during a student’s time at NJIT.
