Roubailo, Doctor, Cortez, Figueredo Earn 2025 USFCA Mid-Atlantic/South All-Region Honors

2025 USFCA All-Region Teams

NEWARK, NJ–The United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA) has announced the 2025 NCAA Fencing Mid-Atlantic/South All-Region teams, which was released by the organization on Friday, March 14.

The awards are determined based on result and field size at each of the NCAA Regional Competitions. 

The four Highlanders named to the All-Region Team were: Niels Roubailo (Second Team; Men's Epee), Aidan Doctor (Honorable Mention; Men's Foil), Christopher Cortez (Honorable Mention; Men's Sabre) and Adrian Figueredo (Honorable Mention; Men's Sabre).

Niels Roubailo | All-Region Second Team | Men's Epee
Roubailo has earned a bid to the 2025 NCAA Fencing Championships.  His selection was an at-large bid after finishing ninth out of 47 fencers in the men's epee competition at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on March 8.  

Roubailo, who hails from Walchwil, Switzerland, combined for a 67-25 season record with a 72.83 winning percentage. Roubailo, a member of the NJIT men's epee squad was crowned MACFA Conference Epee Team Champions.

Roubailo is a two-time USFCA All-Region second-team selection (2025, 2024).

Aidan Doctor | All-Region Honorable Mention | Men's Foil
Doctor was the top finisher for NJIT, placing 11th in the men's foil competition at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on March 8.  

At the MACFA Championships, Doctor was part of the men's foil squad which placed third at the championships and placed fifth individually.

For the season, Doctor combined for a 57-50 overall mark.

Christopher Cortez | All-Region Honorable Mention | Men's Sabre
Cortez was the top finisher for NJIT, finishing 12th in the men's sabre competition at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on March 8.  

At the MACFA Championships, Cortez was part of the men's sabre squad which placed second at the championships and placed 14th individually.

Cortez finished the 2024-25 season with a 73-34 overall record (68.22 winning percentage).

Adrian Figueredo | All-Region Honorable Mention | Men's Sabre
Figueredo was a top 15 finisher in the men's sabre competition at the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional on March 8.  

At the MACFA Championships, Figueredo was part of the men's sabre squad which placed second at the championships and placed second individually.

Figueredo finished the 2024-25 season with a 63-28 overall mark (69.23 winning percentage).
