NJIT Track and Field Heads Back to Boston for the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships

BOSTON, Mass. - The NJIT track and field teams will compete at the IC4A/ECAC Indoor Championships on Saturday and Sunday at Boston University Track and Tennis Center. Competition will begin at 10:00 a.m. on both days.
 
Zaidah Lightener earned a silver medal in the triple jump with a college-best 11.86m at the AE Championships. She also broke a school record in long jump with a college-best mark of 5.76m at the Dr. Sander Invitational.
 
Raegan Bossard broke the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.90m at the Dr. Sander Invitational, which ranks second in the conference at the Dr. Sander Invitational.
 
Pietro Carpentari broke the school record with a personal-best 500m time of 1:03.96  at the AE Championships, ranking fifth for the conference. For the women's 500m, Lucia Julvez's time of 1:15.82 ranks fifth in the conference while Sanai Jenkins secured a personal-best time of 1:16.10, which ranks sixth in the America East.
 
For the men's triple jump, Ryan Nartey (14.47m) stamped the fifth spot and Marvellous Bassey (14.18m) secured the seventh spot with personal-best marks at the America East Indoor Championships.
 
Hayley Lucido ran an indoor-best 800m time of 2:15.44 at the America East Indoor Championships, which ranks fifth in the conference.
 
Jeusten Jourdain earned the fifth spot with a time of 8.51 in the 60m hurdles at the Dr. Sander Invitational, which ranks tenth in the America East.
 
For the men's 4x400m relay, Carpentari, Lossenie Fofana, Robbie Tormo, and Gabriel Truehart posted a time of 3:17.17,which is the third-best in program history.
 
The women's 4x400m relay team that includes Julvez, Jenkins, Nelagh Matthews, and Kierstin Ashby, ran a time of 3:50.40 to finish fourth in the conference.

NEXT UP
NJIT will have two weeks off before the outdoor season begins with the Raleigh Relays on March 27-29 and the Monmouth Season Opener on March 28-29.
