NEWARK, NJ–The NJIT women's tennis team secured a 4-1 win over visiting LIU to remain undefeated at home Friday evening inside The Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility.
The Highlanders, winners of two straight, improved to 10-4 overall and 8-0 at home.

NJIT earned the doubles point and won three singles contests to register the 4-1 home victory.
In doubles action, Paula Menendez Alvarez and Feyza Aydin were 6-1 winners at the third spot and Highlanders pair Laura Wipfli and Irene Cocero teamed for a 6-3 win at first doubles.
Arina Babokva got things going in singles competition at the fourth spot combining for identical scores, 6-2, 6-2 to pick up the point.
Menendez Alvarez, competing at first singles, won in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 and at the sixth spot, freshman Petra Koszo clinched the match for the Highlanders, up 3-1, after a withdrawal by LIU.
NJIT will return to action on April 4 when the Highlanders visit Temple in Philadelphia at 11am.
The next day, NJIT will conclude its home slate and recognize its graduating seniors – Shalom Salvi, Riya Mathur and Arina Babkova. First serve will begin at 4pm vs. Drexel.
