NJIT Men’s Lacrosse Concludes Non-Conference Play Against Lafayette

EASTON, Pa. - The NJIT men's lacrosse team (1-4) concludes non-conference play on the road against Lafayette (3-3, 0-2 Patriot) on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Fisher Stadium. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+, with Adam Dobrowolski on the call.
 
NJIT NEWS & NOTES
NJIT enters the contest with a 1-4 record, most recently securing a 12-11 victory over Wagner on March 8.
 
Russell Maher recorded his first hat trick as a Highlander against Wagner. He is tied for a team-high six goals this season and is second with eight points. Maher was selected as an Impact Transfer to Watch by Inside Lacrosse.
 
Isaac Vanzomeren was named the America East Faceoff Specialist of the Week on March 3 after winning 15-of-25 faceoffs (a season high 60%) and recording nine ground balls against Drexel on Feb. 26. Vanzomeren ranks second in the America East and sixth in the nation with 8.20 ground balls per game. NJIT ranks 13th in the country in faceoff winning percentage (57.5%).
 
JC Echezuria earned America East Rookie of the Week honors on Feb. 10 after recording five points (3 goals, 2 assists) against St. John's. His five-point performance is the most points by a Highlander in a collegiate debut in program history. He leads the team with ten points this season (5 goals, 5 assists).
 
Ryan Sininsky (5 goals, 2 assists) and Alystair Hemberger (6 goals, 1 assist) have recorded seven points each this season.
 
Christopher Eiselein has scored two goals in each of the last two games, totaling six on the year. He leads the Highlanders with two man-up goals.
 
Jadon McKenzie and Darren Romaine are tied for a team-high four caused turnovers. Sullivan O'Brien leads all NJIT non-faceoff players with 13 ground balls, including four against Wagner. Joey Schwarz made ten saves in his first career start against Wagner.
 
SCOUTING LAFAYETTE
Lafayette enters the contest with a 3-3 record, most recently falling to No. 14 Colgate, 19-14, on March 8.
 
Riley Sullivan (16 goals, 17 assists) leads the nation with 6.60 points per game this season. Evan Prince has a 59.3% faceoff winning percentage and has recorded 36 ground balls. Joe Doherty has an 11.35 GAA and has made 72 saves this season.
 
Lafayette leads the all-time series 5-0, with the most recent win coming on Feb. 9, 2019, a 14-10 victory.
