Box Score 2 NEWARK, N.J. – The NJIT men's tennis team earned a pair of sweeps on Saturday inside the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility, defeating Siena and Lafayette by 7-0 finals.

The Highlanders got off on a strong foot with a pair of doubles victories from the top two pairings.
Pablo Perez Ramos and
Wil Jenkins earned the win in No. 1 doubles, while
Nejc Skorjanc and
Tom Sorin secured the doubles point with a win in the No. 2 position.
In singles, Perez Ramos and Skorjanc each earned dominant victories in the top two positions. Perez Ramos won his match, 6-2, 6-1, while Skorjanc cruised to victory in his No.2 singles outing, 6-3, 6-0.
Oscar Callo von Platen shutout his opponent in No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0, while
Soma Fukuhara earned an impressive 6-0, 6-2 win in the No. 4 slot.
Maxime Hankins and
Tom Sorin rounded out the Highlander lineup with victories in No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively.

It was the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairing that would clinch the first point of the match for NJIT. Callo von Platen and Skorjanc took their match in the No. 2 position, 6-3, while Sorin and
Severin Risan earned a 6-4 win in the No. 3 slot.
Risan and
Juan Diego Argenal each earned their first singles victories of the season. Risan won his No. 5 singles match, 6-0, 6-1, while Argenal earned a 6-2, 6-4 win in the No. 6 position. Perez Ramos and Jenkins each earned straight set wins out of the top two positions, respectively, while Fukuhara and Sorin both notched their second singles wins of the day as well. Fukuhara cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 3 slot, while Sorin's 6-2, 6-4 win came out of the No. 4 spot.
