NEW YORK–The NJIT men's and women's fencing teams competed at the Columbia Invitational on Sunday afternoon against Johns Hopkins and host Columbia.

Graduate student Paul Veltrup and freshman Fabio Mastromarino led the epee squad with a 5-1 overall mark.

Adrian Figueredo went 3-1 in the sabre competition.

On the women's side, Asia Vitali was the top performer with a 3-1 overall record.

The NJIT men will return to action on Sunday, November 16 at the MACFA A vs. B meet hosted by Drew while the NJIT women will break until December 6 when the Highlanders compete in the Tradition Meet hosted by Sacred Heart.
