NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT swimming and diving team hosts defending America East champion Binghamton on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center (BWEC). The diving portion will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the swimming events starting at 12:30 p.m.

The meet will be streamed live on America East TV with Ira Thor on the call.

NJIT fell to America East rival Bryant, 159-139, on Oct. 25. The Highlanders also won the NJIT Invite for the third straight season with 1,121 points on Oct. 10-11, beating Villanova, Howard, and Saint Peter's.

Mohamed Walid earned the America East Swimmer and Rookie of the Week on Oct. 14. He leads the America East in the 200 fly with a time of 1:49.84 against Bryant. He ranks third in the conference in the 200 free (1:40.83), 50 fly (22.67), and 100 fly (49.01).

Andrew Cellar has dominated the backstroke this season, ranking second in the America East in the 50 back (23.06), 100 back (49.47), and 200 back (1:49.63).

Yonatan Ahdut impressed in his collegiate debut, swimming America East-best times in the 500 free (4:32.08) and 1,000 free (9:20.09) against Bryant.

Pawel Drzymala ranks third in the America East in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:34.75 against Bryant. He also ranks fifth in the conference in the 200 IM (1:53.84).

Borys Endle leads the America East in the 200 breast with a time of 2:01.71 against Bryant. He also ranks third in the 100 breast (57.30) and fourth in the 400 IM (4:04.80).

Scouting Binghamton
The Bearcats hold a 4-0 record in dual meets this season, including a 192-106 win over Canisius on Nov. 1.

Binghamton leads the all-time series 5-0 in dual meets, including a 196-103 win on March 21, 2021.
