YPSILANTI, MI – The NJIT men's basketball team concludes week-long MTE falling to Eastern Michigan 73-55 on Friday night.
Down early, the Highlanders surged on a 9-0 run to get the lead halfway through the opening half. Sophomore
Quentin Duncan made an immediate impact off the bench with two quick threes to help start the run.
The Highlanders went into halftime tied but had themselves a strong first twenty minutes shooting 11-26 from the field (42.3%) and 5-10 from behind the arc (50%).
Coming out of the break, Eastern Michigan's offense surged using a 14-3 run to gain a ten-point lead halfway through the final half.
The Highlanders struggles only continued as the half went on and their strong start from the field in first half turned into only three made threes on 13 attempts in the final twenty minutes of play.
Leading the way for the Highlanders was Junior
Sebastian Robinson scoring 11 points off the bench on 4-8 shooting from the field.
Sophomore
Malachi Arrington played his best game as a Highlander finishing with his first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
