NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT swimming and diving team will host the NJIT Invite on Oct. 10-11 at the Joel and Diane Bloom Wellness and Events Center (BWEC). The meet will begin at 5 p.m. Friday and continue at 10 a.m. Saturday. It will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Dave Popkin and Chris Tsakonas on the call.

The Highlanders will compete against Howard, Saint Peter's and Villanova.

NJIT News & Notes
NJIT fell to Iona, 171-125, in its first dual meet of the season.

Pawel Drzymala won the 1,000 freestyle with a personal-best time of 9:46.67, which is the sixth-best in program history. He also won the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:55.15.

Andrew Cellar won the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.15, which is the seventh-best in school history.
Keegan Wooding earned the victory in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:48.46. Borys Endle won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:08.25.

The Highlanders won the NJIT Invite last season with 1,289.5 points.

Scouting the Opponents
Howard was ranked first in the NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll after winning a NEC championship last season. The Bison finished fifth at the Potomac Relays and dropped their dual meet to Georgetown, 139-78.

Saint Peter's was picked eighth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Peacocks will open their season at the NJIT Invite.

Villanova will also compete in their first meet of the season. The Wildcats finished fourth at the Big East Championships last season.

NJIT will host America East foe Bryant in a dual meet on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the BWEC.
