Andreoli Tallies a Goal for Second Straight Game in 1-1 Draw Against First-Place Binghamton

NEWARK, N.J. - The NJIT women's soccer team (5-3-4, 0-1-2 AE) earned a 1-1 draw against first-place Binghamton (7-1-3, 2-0-1 AE) on Thursday night at Lubetkin Field at Mal Simon Stadium.
 
Briana Andreoli scored a goal for the second straight game in the 36th minute, assisted by Kirra Hyder and Caitlin Mahala. Andreoli now leads the America East with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists) this season. Hyder recorded an assist for the second straight game, while Mahala tallied the first assist of her collegiate career. The Highlanders led 1-0 at halftime.
 
 
Binghamton responded early in the second half, as Anna Buckwalter netted her second goal of the season off the far post in the 48th minute, assisted by Olaya Blanco. Despite outshooting NJIT in the second half, the Bearcats were unable to capitalize on their remaining six attempts.
 
Andreoli led the Highlanders with two shots. Goalkeepers Enya Carthy and Mojisola Ayodele each made three saves. Merle Hueser, Sofia Mignon, Maria Nogueira, Mahala, and Kennedy Yon all played the full 90 minutes.
 
Binghamton led in shots (15-7), shots on goal (7-3), corner kicks (7-5), and possession (59%-41%).
